In the city centre access is forbidden to unauthorised cars. It is therefore advisable to park outside the limited traffic area known as ZTL (Zona a Traffico Limitato) and to move around by bus, underground or better still, on foot.

The Rome Metrebus System offers an ample variety of tickets and passes:
· BIT (€ 1,00) a single use ticket lasting 75 min after being stamped;
· MULTIBIT (€5,00) -5 BITs in one ticket – which can be used as five separate BITs even on different days;
· BIG (€ 4,00) which lasts the whole day for an unlimited number of journeys;
· BTI (€11,00) – tourist ticket – valid for three days from the date indicated by the client and for an unlimited number of journeys;
· Carta Settimanale (€16,00) Weekly pass lasting seven days from the date indicated by the client and valid for unlimited journeys.
Monthly and annual Metrebus Roma passes are also available.
The Lazio Metrebus System also has its tickets and passes. The ticket types are:
· daily (BIRG) valid until midnight of the day it is stamped and for an unlimited number of journeys for the zones purchased;
· tourist (BTR) tourist (BTR) valid three days from the date indicated by the client and for an unlimited number of journeys;
· weekly pass (CIRS) valid seven days from the first stamping for an unlimited number of journeys relative to the zones purchased.
Monthly and annual passes go by zone and are valid for an unlimited number of journeys and journeys within the chosen zone.

The A Line runs from Anagnina to Battistini with 27 stations, crossing the Capital from the South-East to the North-West. The first train is at 05:30 and the service normally ends at 11:30.
The Line B runs from 05:30 to 11:30 and between Rebibbia and Laurentina with 22 stations. It intersects the Capital from the South to the North-East.
The regional Roma-Lido railway connects the city to Ostia. It runs from 05:18 to 11:30. There are 13 stops with a total average journey time of 37 minutes.
The Roma-Pantano railway runs from 05:30 to 9:30. It has 30 stops with an average journey time of 36 minutes.

Travellers with difficulties moving can use the urban line 590 service . It is equipped for motorised wheel chairs and runs parallel to metro line A (from Piazza Cinecittà to Piazza Risorgimento)

TO/FROM FIUMICINO AND CIAMPINO AIRPORTS
1 – Fiumicino
The Leonardo Express direct train connects Fiumicino non-stop to Termini station every 30 minutes with a journey time of 30 minutes.
2 – Ciampino
There is a bus connecting the airport to Termini Station and one to the Anagnina underground stop. A connection between the two airports is also being established.
The 110 double-decker open-top buses cover the main sites of historical and artistic interest in the city. The line runs 7 days a week. There is roughly a bus every 20 minutes from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm. It leaves and terminates in Piazza dei Cinquecento (Termini Station). To complete your Stop & Go itinerary there is an audio guide lasting about two hours. Tickets are available on-line or onboard and from the Trambus Open info boxes at Stazione Termini, the Colosseum and authorised resellers.
Archeobus starts within the walls and runs down through the Apian Way Park. The bus is operative every day with departures every 30 minutes from Piazza dei Cinquecento (Termini Station). To complete your Stop & Go itinerary with open-top buses ask for the audio guide system, which lasts about an hour and a half.
Tickets are available online, on board, at the Trambus Open info boxes in Termini Station, at the Colosseum and at authorised resellers. A free official Comune di Roma map is provided on board as well as mono-use headphones.

Blue Zone (Fascia Blu)
In many central zones in the city there are authorised parking areas marked with blue lines (the yellow lines mean you can't park there). The cost per hour is 1.00 Euro. After 8 pm (in some cases after 11 pm) you can park for free until 8 am. Tickets must be displayed in windscreens and they can be bought both at the machines on the pavement (coins only) or at tobacconists (large T sign) and newsagents.
