Vincent van Gogh: Timeless Countryside – Modern City
08/10/2010- 20/02/2010
The exhibition marks the return of Vincent van Gogh’s unique genius to Rome after a twenty two year absence.

It also for the first time meticulously analyses the two contradictory driving-forces which often guided the painter in his choice of subjects: his love of the countryside as a fixed set piece and his attachment to the city, the hub of ever-changing modernity.

70 works of art are on view including a number of celebrated paintings, prized watercolours and works on paper by the Dutch master as well as 30 works by the great artists who inspired him, including Millet, Pissarro, Cézanne, Gauguin and Seurat.
