Start with a visit to the Explora campus (www.mdbr.it), which has activities for children aged 3 - 5 and 6 – 12 until 11 September, with the exception of the week of 15 August. Kids can participate in outdoor games, multimedia workshops, crafts, robots and storytelling as well as enjoy snacks and lunch at the museum.
On 25 August, the Casina di Raffaello in Villa Borghese reopens with workshops, games and exhibitions, whilst from 31 August to 11 September; the Museo Civico di Zoologia is holding the “Researchers in city” initiative, which is designed for 5 to 12 year-olds to play at being researchers through various interactive games.
Until 30 August, the Bastione San Marco di Castel Sant’Angelo is hosting entertainment and activities for younger visitors with the exhibition “Notti animate sulle terrazze di Castel Sant’Angelo” (Lively nights on the terrace of Castel Sant’Angelo).
For the entire month of August, the Planetarium hosts nightly entertainment from 9:30 - 10:30 that allows the old and young alike to discover the wonders of the solar system. Meanwhile until 14 September, the Biblioteche Comunali (Communal Library) is offering the use of books and CDs, storytelling and activities/ games in some of the most historic locations of the capital, such as Villa Celimontana and the gardens surrounding Castel Sant’Angelo.
