The piazzas, auditoriums and theatres are offering great shows and for those who prefer street parties there are some surprises in store this year.
At 11.00 PM the atmosphere will start to heat up with the renowned Tuscan indie-rock band "Baustelle". They will then pass the baton at 23.30 to the celebrity of the evening, the one and only Gianna Nannini. All this will take place in the most suggestive of Rome's settings, by the Colosseum.
Instead, in the New Rome Exhibition Hall from 6:00 PM the music will begin with a line-up of DJs and VJs who will alternate in the famous New Year's Eve Festival - Amore09, now in its fifth year. The guests will be Sven Vath, Ricardo Villalobos, Marco Carola, Magda, Claudio Coccoluto, Ellen Allien, Miss Kittin, Thomas Muller and Paco Osuna, just to quote a few.
But the New Year celebrations will also take place in the suburbs with concerts by Radici nel Cemento and Giuliano Palma and the Blue Beaters in Piazza di Cinecittà.
The customary Fireworks show this year will take place at the Pincio and in Piazza del Popolo.
