Today’s itinerary: The new “Contemporary Rome” map
“Contemporary Rome” is a new map that guides visitors between Rome’s contemporary sites whether they are architectural, works of art or design related.

The initiative intends to broaden the cultural itinerary offered and meet the demands of more demanding and sector driven tourists. It considers new trends in low-cost travel and shorter visit, which are often merely a weekend.

So here we have it a new map, which via 40 architectural symbols, pinpoints the sites putting on exhibitions, producing or managing contemporary art. With over 100 sites of contemporary interest illustrated on the bilingual map, you will find the archives, academies and cultural institutes that are active in the capital listed in both English and Italian. In addition there is a selective list of places to enjoy a drink after an exhibition or take advantage of happy hour prices.

What is more “Contemporary Rome” is expected to be subdivided into 3 specifically themed maps dedicated to “Modern and Contemporary Architecture”, “Academies and Institutes” and “Parks and Public Works of contemporary art”.

The themed map project is promoted by the Assessor for Cultural Policy and Municipal Council Communication in partnership with the Regional Agency for Tourism Promotion for Rome and for Lazio.
