To start with, under the gaze of Castel Sant’Angelo, to be more precise in Piazza Adriana, you will find the by now famous “Grinzing Village”; it will remain open every day from 10 AM to midnight until 2 Feb.
Also open to the public until 3 Feb will be the “Sottozero” rink at the Parco della Musica Auditorium. You can skate during week days from 2 to 9 PM, on Saturdays from 10 AM to midnight and on Sundays from 10 AM to 9 PM. On this little gem of a rink set in a complex designed by Renzo Piano adults and children alike can glide on their blades to lively music. The surface is 600 metres square and is laided out in the Cavea of the Auditoirum’s piazza dedicated to Luciano Berio. For more information see www.auditorium.com
For those of you that wish to combine shopping and skating there is “Granai on ice”. The rink in front of the Granai shopping Centre on via Mario Bianchini and will be open from 10 AM until Midnight until 8 March. For more info see www.centroigranai.it
Finally, there is “Ice Park”, in Piazza Re di Roma. Open only for a few more days the 20 x 30 metre rink will be there until 25 Jan. Along with the rink are many wooden stands offering gifts and refreshments to be enjoyed in good company. People of all ages can have a hot choclate to warm themselves up after their exertions on the ice in a magical setting. The rink is open from 2 PM to midnight during the week and from 10 AM to midnight during the weekend.
For those of you that are staying over the other side of town and would like to enjoy the ice, you can skate on the rink at Parco di Tor di Quinto until 28 February. The XX Municipality’s structure is open every day from 10 AM to Midnight. For more information see www.iceparkweb.it
