On Friday, 30th July at 10 pm in Piazza di Spagna, in cooperation with Promoroma, the Chamber of Commerce’s Special Company, Toccata & Fuga, Roman Holidays is restaging a very special evening concert, which was held at Caracalla in 1990. Over the course of the evening three very different tenors will perform one after another before the illuminated fountain, recapturing the magic of an event which has remained so dear to everyone’s hearts.
Immediately after the “Toccata & Fuga” show on 2nd August,at 9 pm Piazza Navona and at 10 pm Piazza di Spagna will provide the unique setting for the Miss Rome Beauty Contest, now in its 50th year. Against the captivating backdrop of the piazza, the lucky winner of this beauty pageant will be selected to compete for the Miss Italy Finals.
At 9:00 pm Piazza Navona and at 9:50 pm Piazza Spagna on 9th August, tango from Argentina, with its very own yet so very different worldwide appeal to our opera music, will take centre stage for a quarter of an hour.
The dance celebration, which has been organised in cooperation with the Embassy of Argentina, will also be an opportunity to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of the State of Argentina.
At 10 pm on the night of 14th August , piazza di Spagna and at 11:30 pm a magnificent fire-work display will light up Rome’s skies to celebrate midsummer.
