Since the nineteenth century, Miguel de Cervantes’ novel has provided the inspiration for a number of ballets, each one choreographically-speaking different from the other.
J.G. Noverre, F. Hilverding, C.L. Didelot, S. Taglioni, A. Bournonville have all taken up this personal artistic challenge of staging the litterary masterpiece, while the productions of such talents as M. Petipa, A. Gorsky, G. Balanchine e R. Nureyev are still part of contemporary theatrical repertoire.
