The Romans’ Risorgimento. Photographs from 1848 to 1870
24/09/2010- 09/01/2011
Around one hundred exhibits, mostly original photographs dating from between 1849 and 1870, document the Risorgimento Period, especially the years between the Roman Republic of 1849 and the breach of Porta Pia in 1870.
The latter historic date also marked the advent of photographic technology which, in Rome, was greeted with great enthusiasm, especially for photographing views and monuments.
