Lisbon, Madrid, New York – Rome goes on a world tour.
Rome will again be participating at a number of international tourism fairs this year. The city with its own stand is going to the fairs held in the world’s principle cities.

January will be a busy month as Rome Municipal Council will be present at the BTL, the international Tourism fair held in Lisbon. In its first visit, the team has four days to promote the image of Rome to the local Portuguese market, which has not been carefully explored but is certainly of strategic importance, moreover as a gateway to South American countries. On 15 January the Vice-Mayor with responsibilities for Tourism Sen. Mauro Cutrufo will be presenting the city’s programme for development and the short film “Ode to Rome” directed by Franco Zeffirelli.

From 20 to 24 January, Rome will be across the Portuguese boarder in the Spanish Capital and the promotion of the city will continue at Madrid’s FITUR. This fair is an opportunity to set out strategy and establish alliances thus meeting the continued evolution of the tourism market.
However the eternal city will not be stopping here as on 19 January the team is off to New York to present “Ode to Rome” during “Rassegna Rai Fiction”. In addition to the short promotional film by Zeffirelli, Senator Cutrufo has organised a performance of “Toccata & Fuga” at the Trump Tower.

This production has enchanted thousands of tourists in the open air of the eternal city with a repertoire of music and dance from classics and traditional Italian pieces.
