From Friday 11 September tourists, but naturally also locals, will be able fill their weekend evenings with culture. On Friday the Vatican Museums are open late, Saturday is the turn of the Capitoline Museums in conjunction with the Ara Pacis and Centrale Montemartini and Sunday is Colosseum and Imperial Forum day when you can enjoy a stroll among the sites in the morning.
Evening opening hours are from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm and to support the extended hours there are a series of promotional cards:
Vatican and Rome Card at 25 Euro, which includes the Open Bus Roma Cristiana, the public transport system and entrance to the Vatican Museums on a Friday evening in September or October.
Roma Pass Special at 15 Euro, which allows free entrance to either the Capitoline Museums, Museo dell’Ara Pacis ( The Altar of Augustan Peace) or the Centrale Montemartini (classical sculpture and engineering) plus free entrance to the Colosseum and Roman Forums on Sunday Morning.
Offers are only valid in September and October and anyone not interested can always simply buy a standard ticket at sites.
For those of you joining us from afar there are also some tourist packages available that include, transport, hotels and entrances to museums. For full details visit: http://www.josp.com/it/news1.jsp
